Outlaw Triathlon introduces payment plan

Based on competitor demand, OSB Events has introduced a payment plan option for athletes wishing to secure a place at the Outlaw Triathlon now, but pay the balance of the entry fee next year. The Outlaw 2018 is set for the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham on 29 July 2018 covering a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run.

The Outlaw opened for entries last month and is already half full. Knowing that the event often sells out, there has reportedly been significant demand from prospective competitors to offer a payment plan option so that they can secure their places before it sells out. This has now been introduced for the first time and is set out below.

A non-refundable upfront payment made before 31 December 2017 will secure a place in the 2018 Outlaw Triathlon, subject to the remaining two payments being made as detailed below.

  • Payment 1: £125.00 + £13.00 booking fee – available up until 31 Dec
  • Payment 2: £100.00 payable during February
  • Payment 3: £74.00 payable during April

Should a competitor need to withdraw from the 2018 race for any reason up to four weeks out, they will be eligible to receive a refund of payments two and three. All three payments must be completed by the end of April 2018 for an athlete to be eligible to race.

Organised by OSB Events, the Outlaw has a reputation for being novice- and family-friendly, as well as offering a relatively fast course for setting personal best times. There is also an extensive area for on-site camping, managed by the National Water Sports Centre, but reserved exclusively for Outlaw competitors. The Outlaw was first launched in 2010 and is regularly voted as one of Britain’s best events.

Other attractions include ‘a higher percentage of female participants than other long distance events’.

The Outlaw Half Nottingham has already sold out, in almost record time. Places at Outlaw Half Holkham in North Norfolk on 1 July 2018 are currently on sale. A new Outlaw Half event in the South East is also in the pipeline.
