Sun Multisport Events has announced Ashworth Awards — the endurance sport’s industry leading provider of quality recognition products, awards and medals — as the Official Awards Sponsor for the 2017 RACE-MANIA Summit and Expo. Designed to educate, equip and inspire 2,000+ endurance athletes on the eve of a new season, RACE-MANIA is developed in partnership with the USAT Northeast Regional Council and takes place Sunday 26 March 2017 at Boston University’s Fit Rec Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to an all-star line-up of speakers, a full day of educational seminars & clinics and a sold out expo, RACE-MANIA features multiple competitive events for teams and individuals. The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Team Challenge is a signature competition that combines the times of teams competing in the Relay Team Swim Challenge in the state-of-the-art BU Fit Rec pool; the FastSplits Indoor Bike Time Trial on the RACE-MANIA expo floor; and the Marathon Sports 4 x 1600m Relay Run on the BU indoor track.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Team Challenge will feature 18-20 local teams and 150-200 athletes. Individuals also have the opportunity to participate in a staged indoor triathlon consisting of a 200-yard Swim Sprint in the BU pool, the 10k Fast Splits Indoor Bike Time Trial and the Marathon Sports 1600m Dash.
Ashworth Awards is a leading manufacturer and supplier of custom medallions, awards, plaques and other recognition products and has developed long-standing relationships with some of the most recognized endurance events and skill competitions in the world, including the Boston Marathon, IRONMAN, US Figure Skating. It is also USA Triathlon’s Official Awards Partner. As the Official Awards Sponsor of RACE-MANIA, Ashworth Awards will create custom awards for the top three teams in the Myeloma Research Foundation Team Challenge and the top three women and men in the Indoor Triathlon.
“RACE-MANIA is all about preparing athletes for the new season,” said Mark Walter, President of Sun Multisport Events. “Competitions complement RACE-MANIA educational programming and the vendor expo with opportunities for athletes to get in an early season test of their endurance. The custom awards from Ashworth Awards provide additional incentive for athletes and additional hardware for the trophy case!”
“We are thrilled to be the Official Awards Sponsor of the 2017 RACE-MANIA Summit and Expo” said Kim Ashworth, Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer for Ashworth Awards. “We believe it’s important to give back to our sport and be involved on every level. We are not only manufacturers in the endurance sports industry, but as athletes ourselves we understand what athletes expect to receive at the finish line of their events. Good luck to all the athletes competing at RACE-MANIA!”
