Swim England is attending the UK’s Tri Expo 2018 to showcase what the organisation has to offer swimmers and triathletes alike. The national governing body for swimming in England, notes that the discipline is a ‘considerable portion of any triathlon, and if your specialty is running or cycling, it can be tricky to shave all important times from your swims.’
Tri Expo will return to EventCity, Manchester on 10-11 March 2018. Once again, the organisers will be hosting two shows in one, Bike Expo and Tri Expo, embracing all aspects of swimming, cycling and running. The organising team at Hamerville Media Group note that Tri Expo is unique in that it is the only show of its kind to cover the North West of the UK, an area renowned for cycling and triathlon. The show is positioned as a must-attend event for anyone interested in cycling and triathlon, as well as those who want to try a sporting challenge for the first time.
A release from Swim England adds that ‘Whether you are a total beginner to swimming and need to learn the very basics, or even a honed athlete looking for tips to gain that extra advantage, we can help you.’
As a national governing body for swimming and a range of aquatic sports, Swim England can help direct athletes to adult swimming lessons, masters swimming clubs or swimming sessions to improve overall fitness.
Swim England National Masters and Open Water Officer Sharon Lock said “The Tri Expo is a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know how we can support swimmers and triathletes through the work we do, while also offering our knowledge and expertise to help them improve.
“We can speak to keen swimmers on a one on one basis and direct them to the right services to meet their needs, and talk about anything new we have on offer. This is our third year at the Tri Expo; and over the last two, we have been able to talk to people and share their enthusiasm for the sport we love.
“It is very gratifying to know that we have helped them to improve, or offered an opportunity for them to find out how to improve.”
The team at Swim England offers a free Just Swim membership that offers advice from experts, discounts on TYR swimwear, access to challenge event discounts and more.
Sharon Lock added “We will also have a coaches corner on the day [at the Tri Show] where you can ask our experienced coach Johnathan Preston any questions you may have. Jonathon has many years of experience coaching both children and adults to the highest levels, as well as educating our next generation of coaches. Whether you want advice on your own training, on stroke, technique, nutrition or competitions, Johnathan is passionate about swimming and will be ready and waiting for your questions.”
The 2018 Tri Expo consumer show will once again have the support of national governing bodies, Swim England, British Triathlon and British Cycling. Other partners in the show include Cycleguard/Triathlonguard, Xtra Mile Events, Outdoor Swimmer and USwim. New for 2018 will be a ‘Club Hub’ where visitors can freely talk to clubs in their area and find out how a club can help them improve and keep motivated in training and racing.
The Tri Expo takes place at EventCity, Manchester on the weekend of 10-11 March 2018. Tickets will be going on sale at the end of 2017. For any enquires about the show please contact Rebecca Geekie on +44 (0)1923 237799 or email rgeekie[at]hamerville.co.uk.
