Tour de Tallahassee non-profit cycling series forms in Florida

Champions Ride - riders

Ride for Hope, Jim’s Ride to Breathe and the Champions Ride have announced that they have partnered to create a new cycling race series, Tour de Tallahassee. Aligned in their missions to benefit local causes, these three events will work together to ‘bring together family fun with competitive racing in Florida’s Capital City’.

The Tour de Tallahassee will launch in the 2018 calendar year with three events:

  • Champions Ride on 24-25 February 2018 benefiting the Hang Tough Foundation, which serves families whose children have been affected by chronic or life-altering illness or special needs
  • Ride for Hope in June 2018 benefiting the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center, which cares for patients fighting the disease with hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology and gynecologic oncology services
  • Jim’s Ride To Breathe in November 2018 benefitting Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Respiratory Care Services, whose purpose is to deliver respiratory therapy to maintain an open airway for trauma, intensive care and surgical patients

There is no additional fee or registration to be entered into the Tour de Tallahassee. Those interested in participating can simply register for all three events separately. All Tour participants will be eligible for a free tech t-shirt and raffles throughout the year.

An overall winner for the Tour de Tallahassee will be selected based on performance throughout the Tour. First place Men’s and Women’s finishers will be awarded a trophy and winner’s jersey. Cash prizes will also be awarded with US$500 for first, US$300 for second, and US$150 for third place. These prizes for Tour de Tallahassee winners and participants are in addition to the prizes and giveaways offered by each ride separately.
