Trek Bicycle has renewed its broadcast agreement to stream the DVV Verzekeringen Trofee and Soudal Classics cyclocross series

On the heels of hosting its first ever Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Waterloo in Wisconsin, Trek Bicycle has renewed its broadcast agreement to stream the DVV Verzekeringen Trofee and Soudal Classics cyclocross series, Europe’s premier cyclocross series, live on its website, trekbikes.com.

Live streaming started on Sunday 8 October, enabling North American cyclocross fans to watch both series free of charge. This will be the second year that the brand has hosted the series on its site, and continues Trek’s efforts to ‘provide easy and seamless access to world class cycling events’.

Currently, fans across North America must watch the highest echelon of the sport via paid subscription services, tunneling VPNs, or grey-market websites. According to Trek, to date, these channels have not provided a great viewing experience, and in many cases have caused fans to risk their digital security in order to enjoy racing. Watching for free via trekbikes.com provides an ‘easy, reliable method for all to enjoy world-class cyclocross from the convenience of their computer, phone, or tablet’.

Trek has live-streamed the DVV Verzekeringen and Soudal series as well as the 2016 Trek CXC Cup in the past; and in September became the first to ever offer free online viewing of a World Cup race. The broadcast is positioned as North American CX fans’ best opportunity to watch the world’s best cyclocross athletes compete, including the Trek-sponsored Telenet-Fidea team as well as Bontrager athlete and current World Champion Wout van Aert.

American fans can expect to see a familiar face in the women’s field this year as Trek athlete and 13x US Champion Katie Compton plans to race the European series.

The free stream is available to viewers on trekbikes.com in the United States and Canada. Fans can simply visit the Trek website to watch the action live. The complete streaming schedule that will appear on trekbikes.com can be found below.
