Wahoo Fitness, the specialist in workout apps and connected fitness devices, has today announced an official partnership with Six Day London and Six Day Berlin. Six day racing is one of the oldest forms of track cycling, featuring many of the world’s best riders. With a men’s competition across all six days, a women’s competition taking place over three days and sprinters too – Six Day takes the ‘best of track cycling and mixes it with a fantastic party atmosphere’.
As an official partner, Wahoo’s products will support both the recent Six Day London (24-29 October, 2017) and upcoming Six Day Berlin (25-30 January) events. This includes the dual-band TICKR X Heart Rate Monitor, RPM SPEED cycling sensor (a low profile, magnet-less, wireless solution for tracking cycling speed via a Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ enabled device) and the BLUE SC, a wireless solution for gathering both speed and cadence via a Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ enabled device.
Used during last week’s popular Six Day London event, Wahoo’s TICKR X Heart Rate Monitors and RPM SPEED cycling sensors gave an insight to spectators by providing riders’ live speed and heart rate statistics. These showed that the average speed of all riders across all events, where data was considered valid, was a whopping 45.09 km/h. The fastest speed over the week was recorded by the Danish rider Niklas Larsen during his derny heat on the fourth day of racing, reaching a top speed of 77.26 km/h.
Commenting on the partnership, Colin Eustace, General Manager – EMEA at Wahoo Fitness said, “Since its return to London in 2015, the iconic Six Day Series has become one of the highlights of the track cycling calendar.”
He added, “We are extremely proud to announce this partnership. It’s long been Wahoo Fitness’ mission to support the performance of athletes at all levels, and our product ecosystem is uniquely positioned to provide a truly comprehensive, connected training experience for discerning weekend warriors and elite track cyclists competing at the Six Day Series who demand nothing but the absolute best.”
