The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp has confirmed that the CEO EMEA of global sports and lifestyle brand ASICS, Alistair Cameron, will be speaking at the event on Friday 18th January 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.
Cameron will be running the 13:45-14:15 session on the day, titled ‘Brand: Building and Maintaining a Global Brand’. Within this session he will be discussing key points including product and technology development, effective communication, supporting emerging communities, relationships with consumers and what the future holds.
Experienced British executive Alistair Cameron joined ASICS in 2009 following an international career spanning brands including Speedo, New Balance and Clarks. With ASICS, Cameron’s mission has been to strengthen the brand’s performance and lifestyle offering and deliver ambitious growth targets in the EMEA region.
Under his leadership ASICS has undergone rapid growth, doubling sales in the region between 2010 – 2015, and he has overseen a cross-business transformation plan in 2018 to strengthen the organisation and deliver sustainable growth for the future. Cameron is a keen runner and a strong believer in ASICS’ founding philosophy of ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’.

The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp is scheduled to welcome a mix of brands, retailers, race directors, official bodies, sports businesses, sports services and community sectors. The organisers add that ‘each of whom will be bringing their insights and experience to look at the future, learn how to prepare for it and agree how best to deliver to their audiences.’ Attendees will be able to connect with each other whilst benefiting from an engaging agenda of topics.
Already confirmed as speakers for The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp are Nick Pearson, CEO of parkrun, Neil Venables, General Manager of Intersport UK & Ireland and Kate Dale, Strategic Lead for Campaigns at Sport England. International announcer, broadcaster and presenter Kris Temple has been confirmed as the event host.
