On May 22, 2018, Backrelease launched a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter to raise funds for the production of a do-it-yourself gadget that ‘takes control of back pain from the comfort of home’. Designed by licensed physical therapists, Backrelease uses trigger points which relieves muscle tenseness and muscle pain.
A release from the Backrelease team notes that ‘back pain issues plague millions, causing sufferers to seek help from therapists. Backrelease works through self massage and Self Myofascial Release (SMR), which gently release knots in the fascial tissue. By doing so, the muscles begin to relax and release muscle tension throughout the body.’
“I was suffering with from chronic pain,” said company owner Samuel Kempf. “I was motivated to work with therapists to fix my problem and to develop my own device. Working with the team of Innovate40 therapists, we’ve created a self-treatment device that can ease pain and users can use themselves.”
The Backrelease toolkit is created with high-grade natural materials that are sustainably produced, made of high-density wood, treated with natural oils and fully biocompatible. The Kickstarter campaign is looking to raise $ 9000 by June 20, 2018. Perks include a ‘super early bird price of US$119 for a Backrelease, saving 34% off the RRP and delivering worldwide.’
