It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Challenge Family – having recently unveiled its ‘Tri-Slam’ initiative, a new webshop, eyewear partner, Challenge Family World Ranking for pro-athletes and social media campaign this month. The event series organiser has also confirmed that Challenge Almere-Amsterdam in the Netherlands, will continue to operate under the Challenge Family umbrella with a contract extension for the next five years.
Originally the Holland Triathlon, since 2013 the event has been named Challenge Almere-Amsterdam. This year’s Challenge Almere-Amsterdam will be held on 7-9 September.
Challenge Family and the local organising team have reached an agreement about the extension of their contract. This news comes with satisfaction for Race Director Richard Belderok, who said, “We are very happy that Challenge Family shows this confidence in us, and for such a long period of time. With this commitment over many years we can confidently take steps to ensure that participants, volunteers and our partners are part of the most exciting triathlon weekend in the Netherlands.
“We would like to give everyone the possibility to experience this beautiful sport: beginners and pros, younger and older athletes.”
Patrick Seinstra, Chairman of the board of Challenge Almere-Amsterdam, said “In addition to a growing number of participants, the quality, image and international visibility of our triathlon has clearly improved. To us it was a no-brainer to extend the five-year contract. We look forward to continuing our pleasant collaboration with Challenge Family.”
Zibi Szlufcik, CEO of Challenge Family, added “We are delighted to extend our contract with one of the world’s largest triathlon events: Challenge Almere-Amsterdam attracts around 3,500 athletes every year. The seamless organization, the brilliant hospitality, the endless support of the city of Almere, its citizens and the Flevoland region, of course the rich history of the event and the ‘all about the athlete’ approach, makes this race unique and special.
“We are very proud of this extension of the contract and would like to thank the management, the team and the volunteers who form the heart and soul of Challenge Almere-Amsterdam.”
