Chevron strikes oil with trio of Havoline brand ambassadors

Chevron has secured Rachel Klamer to support its Havoline brand

Building on the success of its two prominent brand ambassadors in 2017, Chevron has secured pro triathlete Rachel Klamer as a third athlete to support the Havoline engine oil brand as activation plans for 2018 are rolled out.

Rachel Klamer joins fellow triathlete Richard Murray, and racing driver Freddie Hunt, as Havoline brand ambassadors. They will form part of Chevron’s promotion for its ProDS high quality synthetic engine oil range.

Rachel Klamer is one of the world’s leading female triathletes, competing on the global stage with a number of high-profile wins to her name. Chevron notes that her international appeal, supported by her strong work ethic, ‘communicates the Havoline brand appeal to new audiences through digital channels’.

South African Richard Murray, is one of the world’s leading professional triathletes, competing across the globe in the ITU World Triathlon Series. He recently got his 2018 season off to a winning start, taking first place in the ITU Cape Town World Cup Race. Completing the line-up is professional racing driver Freddie Hunt. Son of Formula One legend James Hunt, Freddie secured a category win at the 24 Hours of COTA late in 2017, and continues to pursue his long-term goal of driving in the famous 24 Hours of Le Man endurance race.

Throughout the year, Chevron will work with all three ambassadors to build Havoline’s brand presence across global markets.

James Welchman, Manager Marketing EMEA at Chevron Lubricants said “This year is a key one for the Havoline brand, with new positioning to reflect the new ProDS range that was recently brought to market. All three of our brand ambassadors reflect the Havoline ethos of ‘Keep Going’. Whether out on the track or on the road, under the bonnet or deep inside an individual, the important thing is to retain performance levels and keep going.

“Our Havoline ambassadors help to reinforce the brand principles to a new, digital audience.”

Rachel Klamer added “I’m very excited to work with Chevron this season and to represent the Havoline brand as I compete internationally. In the same way that I need to make sure I’m protecting my body to perform at my highest level, cars need the right support to maintain their performance. That makes the Havoline brand a great fit for me, and I’m looking forward to see what we can achieve this year.”
