Yellow Jersey has launched Yellow Jersey Business Insurance – a range of new business-to-business insurance products to serve the cycling and triathlon markets. Originally launched in 2014 as a consumer/athlete insurance operation by three brothers Ryan, Scott and Grant Georgiades, the company reports that it has grown rapidly over the past few years ‘offering comprehensive bicycle and travel insurance products for cyclists and at the same time building a strong insurance reputation within the cycling community.’
Over time, the team have received enquiries about business related insurance which, after extensive market research, has prompted the launch of Yellow Jersey Business Insurance. With over 25 years’ experience in commercial insurance the Yellow Jersey team have worked to establish insurance markets for niche cycling and triathlon businesses with the aim of catering specifically to their needs.
Yellow Jersey Business Insurance will provide cover for:
- Bicycle shops
- Cycle tour operators
- Cycle and triathlon event organisers
- Mobile bicycle mechanics
- Professional athletes
- Pro and amateur cycling teams
- Wholesalers & manufacturers
The company has already arranged insurance for a number of well-known companies and teams including Team Wiggins, Canyon Eisberg, Nirvana Europe and Castle Triathlon Series – as well as a range of shops and tour operators.
This new area of Yellow Jersey will be headed up by MD, Ryan Georgiades with the support of Tom McMorrin (ACII) who has joined the company from the prestigious reinsurer, Willis Re.
Managing Director of Yellow Jersey, Ryan Georgiades said “Since we launched Yellow Jersey in 2014 we have been building our contacts in the business community in the hope that we could establish enough of an opportunity to launch Yellow Jersey Business Insurance. Alongside my two brothers, Scott and Grant, our family business has over 25 years’ experience arranging bespoke business insurance policies and we have built on this knowledge and experience to launch a unique offering for the cycling and triathlon industries.
“We take great pride in our personal approach and will take the time to speak to each company individually in order to ensure we are arranging the most comprehensive, yet cost effective cover available on the market. We have found that companies often renew their business insurance without checking what new cover is available so we look forward to speaking with cycling and triathlon businesses to see if we can help develop their business opportunities.”
