Race Across America (RAAM), the ‘World’s Toughest Bicycle Race since 1982’, is rolling out its first Consumer Festival at the start of the Team Race at the Oceanside Pier, CA, on the morning of Saturday, June 16th.
The RAAM organisers note that companies will be able to show, demo and sell product to the thousands of people who come to see the start, and to the racers and crew members of this race that takes them from California to Maryland in a week!
“There are so many bike and outdoor enthusiasts at the start of the race in Oceanside, that we decided to let great companies showcase their products to our targeted, quality fans,” said Fred Boethling, President of RAAM.
“Of the 1200+ racers and support staff at the event, about 50% are from Europe and other countries, and they are looking for the latest and greatest cycling gear, and uniquely American products that they can take home as souvenirs.”
In addition to the competitors and crew, RAAM notes that millions of people watch the race start via the web, and there are thousands of race fans, and ‘tens of thousands of active consumers who are down at the beach checking out the scene.’
