IMG confirms new sponsor partnerships for its UK triathlon portfolio

AJ Bell London Triathlon 2016

IMG, the global specialist in sports, fashion, events and media, has announced an expanded UK sponsorship roster for its 2018 AJ Bell London Triathlon and Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon events.

Hoka One One has signed a long-term deal to become the Official Footwear Partner of both globally recognised triathlons, and Active Life and Protect has signed on as the Blenheim Palace event’s Official Health and Life Insurance Partner.

Marc Webster, IMG’s SVP and Managing Director, Mass Participation EMEA, commented, “We are delighted to announce our new partnerships with these two outstanding organisations. Like us, Hoka One One and Active Life and Protect are committed to excellence, ensuring both organisations will seamlessly fit in with the values of our triathlon portfolio.”

As a partner of IMG’s UK triathlon portfolio, leading footwear supplier Hoka One One will carry a strong presence at each of the two events until 2020. The deal is seen to support the brand’s significant global expansion since its launch in Annecy in 2009, and subsequent acquisition by Decker Brands in 2013.

Elizabeth Brown, Sports Marketing and Events Manager at Hoka One One, said “Triathlon is a key focus for us as a brand, and through our innovative technology, we are dedicated to helping triathletes improve their running performance. We are therefore delighted to be partnering with the London and Blenheim Triathlons, and look forward to supporting participants with our products and education throughout 2018 and beyond.”

Active Life and Protect will join Hoka One One as a sponsor of the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon until 2020. Through the organisation’s association with Vitality, Active Life and Protect is a specialist in the health and life insurance sectors, offering bespoke solutions for its extensive range of clients.

Gary O’Neill, Partner at Active Life and Protect, said “We are delighted to be a partner sponsor of the Bloodwise Blenheim Triathlon and look forward to a long-term association with this exciting event at a world class venue.”

The AJ Bell London Triathlon, which takes place from 4-5 August, is billed as the world’s largest triathlon, offering participants the unique opportunity to swim, bike and run their way through selected closed roads of central London. The Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon, which takes place in the picturesque grounds of Blenheim Palace from 2-3 June, offers super-sprint and sprint distances.
