The inaugural Triathlon Club & Team World Championships has been set for June 8-9, 2019 at the 16th Annual Deuces Wild Endurance Festival in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. The organizing team notes that the championships are open to all organized clubs and teams from around the world. There are divisions based on type of club/team (co-ed, men’s or women’s) and size of club. The scoring methodology is dependent on whether an entity is a club or a racing team.
Debbie Claggett, industry veteran and Race Director of the Deuces Wild Endurance Festival, said, “There has never been one event that celebrates and rewards all of the hard work that the clubs and teams do as a vital part of the triathlon ecosystem.”
She added, “The Deuces Wild Endurance Festival offers five individual triathlons, three relay triathlons, three aqua bikes, and four run races – all in two days. It truly is a festival of endurance in an environment that is great for families and friends.”
Interested clubs and teams need to register in advance of their members signing up for the race, to ensure they are entered as members of their respective club or team.
The Deuces Wild Endurance Festival has drawn on its grass roots atmosphere combined with its large-scale event production. The organizers add that ‘A focus on the athlete experience ensures that each participant leaves feeling fulfilled and excited to come back again the following year… The signature popsicle at the finish line is the cherry on top of a day filled with scenic courses, exceptional staff and volunteers, and fantastic schwag.’
Deuces Wild has been touted as one of the best triathlon festivals in the US by both Outside Magazine and Triathlete Magazine. For companies that would like to get involved, partner opportunities still exist, from title sponsorships to in-kind support. Exhibitor booths are also available.
