IRONMAN has promoted four employees to Senior Vice President roles at IRONMAN effective January 1, 2019. The four are: Kim Aqabli, Sr. Vice President of Finance; Diana Bertsch, Sr. Vice President of World Championship Events; Brooks Cowan, Sr. Vice President, Legal; and Elizabeth O’Brien, Sr. Vice President of Financial Planning & Strategy.

Kim Aqabli, Sr. Vice President of Finance
Kim joined IRONMAN in 2012 and since that time has built the processes and functions that the company relies on for accounting and reporting. Kim’s role has grown to include the accounting, bank reporting, treasury, accounts payable and accounts receivable areas of the business. Prior to her career with IRONMAN, Kim spent 15 years at Ernst & Young in the corporate audit practice.
Diana Bertsch, Sr. Vice President of World Championship Events
Diana has been with the company since 2003 when she began as the Race Director of the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona. In 2013, Diana was promoted to Vice President of World Championship Events, taking over guidance of the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, which has grown substantially under her leadership. Diana also recently added the management of the Abbott World Marathon Majors relationship to her portfolio of responsibilities.
Brooks Cowan, Sr. Vice President, Legal
Brooks joined the legal department in 2011. In his role, Brooks has successfully managed a number of strategic partnerships and special projects along with managing numerous acquisitions. He oversees the protection of all of IRONMAN’s intellectual property and a large contingent of the legal staff.
Elizabeth O’Brien, Sr. Vice President of Financial Planning & Strategy
Elizabeth joined IRONMAN in June 2017 with the acquisition of CGI and now oversees the financial analysis, strategy and reporting functions for the company. She has led efforts to improve the finance team’s support for business functions and regions. In addition, she is responsible for improving the systems and processes utilized to provide information to the organization.
