Tackling the tower at RONDO 1 Summit Run in Warsaw

On February 23, 2019, the ninth edition of the RONDO 1 Summit Run will take place. Part of the Tower Running World Association series of events, the race to the 37th floor of the Rondo 1 office building in Warsaw, Poland, has been popular for a number of years. Registration will be launched on November 26, at 14.00 CET.

“It is hard to believe that we are organizing the RONDO 1 Summit Run for the ninth year,” said event organiser Piotr Jakóbik. “Every year we try to surprise the participants with something new. That will be the case this time too – we will give details soon.

“However, one thing is certain: for the ninth time we will help children from the SOS Children’s Village in Kraśnik.”

The RONDO 1 Summit runs every year and is oversubscribed. Due to the race venue and security considerations, only 500 places are available. These are usually sold out on the first day after registration.

“Some laugh that it is not easy to run on the finish line, but it is even harder to sign up for a run,” continued Piotr Jakóbik. “We are extremely proud of the trust and loyalty of the runners, particularly as some appear with us every year.”

Online registration will be launched on November 26 this year, at 14:00 via the SlotMarket.pl portal. The starting fee will be PLN 40 and will be used to finance holidays and getaways for the charges of the SOS Children’s Village in Kraśnik.

RONDO 1 Summit Run is a sports and charity event, organized in the Rondo 1 office building in Warsaw. In previous editions of the event a total of over PLN 200,000 has been collected for the SOS Children’s Villages in Poland.

In 2016, the event hosted the Towerrunning European Championships. Every year Rondo 1 attracts leading specialists in tower running from Europe and beyond. In the last edition of the competition, Piotr Łobodziński (Poland) and Zuzana Krchova (Czech Republic) triumphed, finishing in 3:35 and 4:40 respectively.
