The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series has announced Toyota, the Official Vehicle of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, as the title sponsor of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon. The largest event in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series will take place on Saturday-Sunday, November 10-11, 2018.
The auto brand is also the sponsor of the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series, which takes place before the marathon and half marathon on the Sunday race day.
“Toyota has been a long-time partner of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, and we are very excited to expand our relationship with them as a title partner for our biggest event of the year,” said Stuart Selig, EVP of Global Partnerships, North America, for IRONMAN.
(Following IRONMAN’s acquisition of Competitor Group Holdings in 2017, and with it the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, the run series has formed part of the IRONMAN and Wanda Sports portfolio.)
Selig continued, “Las Vegas brings an incredible atmosphere and unique experience with participants coming from all over the world to run The Strip at night. Toyota has been a great supporter of our series of events, music headliners and athletes and this title sponsorship will only heighten the experience we can collectively bring to this premier running event.”
“Toyota is proud to continue support of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, this time as the title sponsor for their largest event of the year, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & 1/2 Marathon,” said Tyler McBride, Engagement Marketing Manager at Toyota Motor North America. “There is no place like Las Vegas and the energy and excitement The Strip brings to the race and concert experience is unparalleled.”
The event gives participants a one-of-a-kind night-time running experience as the only private event to close the Las Vegas Boulevard at night. Beginning with an all new start line, the marathon and half marathon will commence in the heart of Las Vegas Blvd, near the MGM Grand Las Vegas. It will take runners past iconic Vegas sights such as the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign, the Bellagio Fountains, Fremont Street and downtown Las Vegas before finishing in front of the Mirage Hotel & Casino.
With a renewed focus on the core pillars of ‘Bringing Fun to the Run’ with music in a community environment, the organising team note that runners of all athletic levels will be treated to more music, live bands and entertainment on course as well as new and improved aid stations.
Race weekend also features the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series with past Las Vegas headliners including The Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock, All-American Rejects and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. In addition to the headliner concert, 20+ live bands and DJs spanning a variety of music genres will perform along the race courses entertaining and encouraging runners with ‘more music than ever’ as they make their way to the finish line. Additional details to be announced in the near future.
Race weekend kicks off with a Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, November 8 from 15:00 – 18:00 local time, on Friday, November 9 from 11:00 – 19:00, and Saturday, November 10 from 09:00 – 18:00 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
