Trimtex Sport AS and the Norwegian Triathlon Federation have announced a new long-term partnership. This confirms that the Lillesand, Norway-based performance multisport brand will be the national governing body’s exclusive partner for triathlon suits, cycling and running apparel.

This collaboration makes Trimtex’s products not only available for Norway’s pro athletes but also to the entire triathlon community in Norway — including Team Norway, the top amateur athletes who qualify to represent Norway at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Age Group World Championships.

According to the company, it also emphasizes Trimtex’s commitment to working with the world’s greatest athletes and the promise that ‘mastery shall never be restricted by clothes’.

“We have chosen to collaborate with Trimtex because it is an innovative company that aims as high as we do. And together, we will create history,” said Arild Tveiten, Sport Director at the Norwegian Triathlon Federation.

“This collaboration was thoroughly chosen and sought after as the sport of triathlon and the athletes themselves are matching perfectly to our brand guidelines with the same values and goals to deliver our best on the way to Tokyo 2020,” added Ole Kristian Augland, owner at Trimtex.

The apparel partnership will encompass the further development and testing of current and new triathlon products. Former national champion Kristian Blummenfelt already collaborates with Trimtex as an ambassador, but also as a product expert to underscore Trimtex’s goal to become a leading brand in triathlon apparel.

“I’m not just riding to be riding, I’m training for improvements – all the time. Trimtex has the same approach!” Blummenfelt said.

Trimtex notes that it started small. Out of garage in Lillesand, Harald Augland began to create customized sportswear to perform better as an orienteer. 40 years later, and evolving from its orienteering roots Trimtex has become a specialist sportswear supplier. As the company points out, ‘Shaped by the toughest Nordic conditions we clothe hardcore athletes for challenges like Norseman and [for] thousands of athletes in sports clubs across Scandinavia. We do this with the support of researchers from NTNU, the most advanced production technologies and our brand ambassadors – top athletes in our sports.’

The Norwegian Triathlon Federation was founded in 1985. In 1994, the federation became a member of the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF). The Federation is committed to clean sport, and is certified by Anti-Doping Norway for its anti-doping work. The Norwegian Triathlon Federation organises and manages triathlon in Norway. Its ambition is to make triathlon a national sport attractive to all children, youth and adults. Long term goals include ‘creating party atmosphere at all events, having a continuous development of membership clubs, facilitating recruitment and longevity in sports, ensuring everyone, independent of needs, can participate in the sport, and having a strong national team.’
