As a member of USA Triathlon (USAT), there are a number of ways that individuals can become involved in the national organization, provide leadership and make a difference in the lives of multisport athletes from around the United States. One opportunity currently available to South Central Region members is the chance to serve USA Triathlon as a member of the Board of Directors.

After nearly four years of volunteer service to the USA Triathlon’s Board of Directors, Staci Brode is stepping down from the Board, and her position as the current Vice President, in order to dedicate the time to her growing business.

Brode was appointed in 2015 and elected by the USA Triathlon membership to serve the South Central Region in 2016. She also served as Board Liaison to both the USA Triathlon Race Director Committee and Regions Committee. She has been involved with multisport for over 15 years as a USA Triathlon Level 2 Certified Race Director and as the President of Playtri.

Any current USA Triathlon annual member in good standing from the South Central Region, which for governance purposes includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, may apply to finish the remainder of the South Central Region term through December 31, 2019. The Board will make the appointment in December 2018. In the autumn/fall of 2019, the seat will be up for election and the winner will be seated in January 2020 for a four-year term.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter (maximum 500 words), professional résumé and a recent headshot to Kaley Espindola, USA Triathlon Sr Governance Affairs/Human Resources Manager, via kaley.espindola[at]usatriathlon.org by November 12, 2018. Further information about the USA Triathlon Board of Directors and its roles and responsibilities can be found online.
