2018 marks OC Sport’s 20th year as an international event organiser. With an expanding portfolio of events spanning across sports such as professional sailing, amateur cycling, running, ultra-trail running and triathlon, the company adds that this year ‘has proven to be our busiest year to date’.
Hot on the heels of its confirmation that the Haute Route cycling series is introducing an Infinity Pass, giving riders access to all Haute Route events, OC Sport has released a video to showcase all highlights from the year to date.
A release from the company added that ‘Together over the last eight months we have broken new ground in ultra-trail running with a new event in China through our subsidiary UTMB International. Two thousand international athletes took part in the first edition of the Gaoligong by UTMB which is quickly establishing itself as a major event on the Asian trail-running calendar.’
OC Sport adds that the Haute Route series continues to ‘revolutionise amateur cycling with rapid expansion and new events across the USA and Europe being staged this year’. And with the 2019 calendar recently announced, the Haute Route’s multi-day events are set for further expansion with the debut of the Haute Route Oman and the Haute Route Mexico.
Elsewhere in our outdoor portfolio, the company welcomed over 2,000 athletes to the inaugural Geneva 20km by Genève Aéroport; over 18,000 runners to the Harmony Geneva Marathon for Unicef; and a record-breaking 2,200 participants to the Geneva Triathlon.
