The organisers of OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO in Cyprus have announced a cooperation with sports nutrition brand Reon Energise, ahead of the event taking place on 23-24 March 2019.
Reon Energise makes powder shots, certified by Informed Sport, to help athletes energise. These contain caffeine (80mg equivalent to a double espresso) and vitamin B12. The company notes that each shot provides an ‘easy and fast-acting way to fight fatigue and increase energy for athletes and runners to use as a pre-training or post-work out boost, and for a variety of on-the-go occasions throughout the day.’
The organisers of OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO add that runners can be assured that there will be plenty of options for hydration and refuelling during the various races taking place over the course of race weekend. There are toilets every 2.5km and regular water stations offering mineral water and a selection of energy gels, electrolytes, soft drinks and fruit.
At the end of each race, each runner also receives water, electrolytes and fruit alongside their bespoke finisher’s medal.
In addition, there will be a dedicated Massage Space providing recovery treatments at the finish area, powered by Ice Power.
OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO welcomes 15,000 athletes to six different races over the course of two days. This year will be the 13th anniversary of the event.
OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO Race Director Andreas Spyrou said “We are delighted to announce our cooperation with Reon Energise, who share our commitment to help athletes get the most out of their running and achieve their goals. The 2019 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to welcome runners of all nationalities to this superb weekend of running. Places are still available for those yet to #RunWithASmile at the brightest marathon in the world.”
