ASG Bike Science has assumed the role of official bike fitter of the Bahrain Merida team in 2019. The partnership sits alongside an extended agreement between Bahrain Merida and SCICON bike bags.
ASG Bike Science will provide bike fitting services to all riders at training camps at the beginning of the season and assessment throughout the year, reviewing athletes’ position and making adjustments to ensure performance.
Bike fitting has already taken place at team camps in Hvar (Croatia), Cambrils (Spain), in the wind tunnel Aerotunnel (Gorizia) and in ASG’s main facility in Mussolente (VI) where the company hosted Vincenzo Nibali, Matej Mohoric, Sonny Colbrelli and all the other team riders.
“We have been through hard work during these months where we spent time with all the team staff and the riders to take care of every minimum detail on the road and TT bikes; integrate with the technical and mental aspects of the team to give them our best,” said Niklas Quetri, fitter at ASG Bike Science.
Alex Carera, responsible for marketing at Team Bahrain Merida McLaren said “Modern cycling leaves nothing to the unknown; materials and posture on the bike are all crucial to the final results. Since the beginning, we had been impressed by how ASG Bike Science works with objective data they gather from all the technology.”
Paolo Slongo, coach for the team and Vincenzo Nibali’s coach, added that “nowadays training and biomechanics on the bike go together; with this level of performance it’s important to evaluate every single aspect of the performance, as we did during the first training camp in Hvar and we keep on doing on the road, in real cycling conditions, with a new dedicated technology.”
