Challenge Family is launching the Challenge Family Awards, for the first time in its history, to reward the race organisers, volunteers and all those who put on Challenge Family races around the globe year after year.
Starting this Friday, November 15 at 20:00 CET, athletes can vote for their favourite Challenge Family race until December 8 (23:59 CET); and the winners will be announced on December 17.
“As Challenge Family we highly value the voice of the athlete,” Jort Vlam explained on behalf of Challenge Family. “After every race we send out a survey to learn what is good and what could be done better. This questionnaire is an important instrument for our race directors to keep improving the race experience and the service level from year to year. So we invented the Challenge Family Awards to give a bigger vote to the athletes and bringing our slogan #allabouttheathlete to life.
“On top of that, it’s a great way to reward the organising teams of the best races for their efforts in delivering excellence. And last but not least the awards will stimulate all our race directors to grow in their job to offer the best possible race experience.”
The races will be nominated in the following categories:
Best Race Venue
Best Swim Course
Best Bike Course
Best Run Course
Best Pasta Party
Best Finish Line Party
Best New Race
Best After Race Food
Most Eco-Friendly Race
Most Family-Friendly Race
The highest scores from post-event surveys have resulted in four nominated races per category. Based on these nominations, athletes and fans can vote for their favourite race online on www.challenge-family.com/awards.
Besides choosing between nominated races in each category, individuals can also vote for the Challenge Family Race of the Year. All winners will be announced on December 17th in Daytona Beach.
With more than 30 international races in over 20 different countries the Challenge Family race series is aiming to bring ‘family friendly and truly unique triathlon events to more people than ever before.’
#wearetriathlon is the chosen tagline/motto that connects all races within the Challenge Family series; and, as every race differs in its cultural setting, course layout and culinary highlights the series organisers are seeking to recognised the individual character of the races and the race organisation teams behind the events.
