Champion Chip 24/7 and MYLAPS sign three-year deal

Timing company Champion Chip 24/7 and MYLAPS have signed a three-year agreement to offer digital sports experiences to athletes and fans. Champion Chip 24/7 and its subsidiaries in Florida – Alta Vista Sports and Florida Road Race Management – will be timing nearly 200 races in 2019. These events include the Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot, ET Lake Zurich Triathlon and Sarasota Music Half Marathon, and will utilise MYLAPS timing systems and services such as the EventApp.

“We are excited to work together with the global leader in sports timing,” said Tony Garrett, founder and owner of Champion Chip 24/7. “We have the ambition to offer participants, fans and sponsors the ultimate sports experience. To accomplish this, our companies are all going back to the best system and read rate in the business, using just one tag and one timeline. We will no longer need two tags for one timeline as we did with our previous vendor. We are convinced the MYLAPS product suite will bring our events to a new level.’

Mike Schmitz, Managing Director MYLAPS Americas said “We are thrilled to work with Champion Chip 24/7 in offering our world class technology to all their events. With our team at the Atlanta, GA, office, where we do everything from production to sales, we can offer Champion Chip 24/7 local support. MYLAPS technology is used at professional events like the Olympics, major marathons, NASCAR and IndyCar and at countless amateur events worldwide. We look forward to helping enhance the race experience together with Champion Chip 24/7 for years to come!”
