Custom for the velodrome: Kalas becomes Six Day Series global partner

The Six Day Series has announced Kalas Sportswear, the Czech custom cycle wear specialist, as the first global partner of the Six Day Series. The deal sees Kalas delivering rider jerseys for each event in the global velodrome series, which kicks-off in London on 22-27 October 2019.

The series then continues to Berlin, Copenhagen, Hong Kong and Manchester before concluding with a season finale in Brisbane next March.

Madison Sports Group CEO James Durbin said “Six Day Series presents unique challenges to a clothing supplier. We need dozens of unique, eye-catching designs, of high-quality kit, made to a tight schedule and delivered to our events all over the globe. We started working together with Kalas for Six Day London back in 2016.

“Since then we extended our partnership to include events in Mallorca, Berlin, Manchester and most recently Brisbane. Kalas have demonstrated a unique ability to deliver the high-performance kit we need for our elite athletes time and again, so it was a natural step for us to make them our first global partner.”

Kalas Marketing Director Frantisek Rabon said “Kalas are rapidly growing as a global name in the custom cycle wear business. We have important markets in many of the countries where Six Day Series are active. Six Day Series presents the perfect opportunity for us to show customers all over the world our creative expertise in design and our dependable production, all from our own factory within Europe.

“We’re delighted to deliver kit based on our aero Pro Razor jersey for riders like Mark Cavendish, Katie Archibald, Owain Doull, Elinor Barker, Elia Viviani and Caleb Ewan. Six days of amazing racing with stars of the World Tour, broadcast on Eurosport and around the world, is also a great way for us to start to communicate that we have refreshed our brand with a vibrant new logo.”

Kalas has revealed a new brand identity including new logos, slogan, typeface and colour. The updated look and feel aims to reflect a position as a ‘modern performance sportswear brand that places innovation at the heart of development’.

As well as on the replica kits on sale in the Six Day Series velodromes and on its website, cycling fans will see the new logo via on-track branding inside the Lee Valley velodrome in London and an advert played on the giant screens at Six Day London.
