Wheel and accessories specialist, Zipp, has announced a new partnership with Cycling Australia’s track cycling program. As an official supplier through the 2020 Olympic Games, Zipp will provide front and rear disc wheels to the team. The Australian cycling team track squad is pushing for world records and gold medals in marquee events including the team pursuit.
As part of the new agreement, the Australian cycling team track squad will ride Argon 18 frames with Zipp discs.
“Working with a wheel and bike manufacturer is vitally important to our performance gains leading into Tokyo,” said Simon Jones, Performance Director at Cycling Australia. “Both Zipp and Argon 18 have a strong performance culture and capability and we are looking forward to what we can create together.”
In a release, Zipp adds that.. ‘The partnership is part of Zipp’s commitment to partner with cycling’s most innovative athletes and programs to achieve not only victories and championships but new levels of speed. The Super-9 is our fastest wheel, and Australia is home to many of the world’s fastest track cyclists.’
