HOKA ONE ONE has unveiled in Fall ’20 footwear line, which fine-tunes an array of the brand’s most popular and best-selling models. Designed to fit the needs of athletes of every type, in every setting from the gym to the mountains, HOKA’s F’20 line-up is positioned as ‘the latest reflection of the brand’s performance roots expanded to empower all athletes to reach new heights.’
Nearly a decade ago, HOKA introduced its first maximum cushion, minimal weight road shoe model. That original concept, and many others inspired by it, have been continually refined and improved. The result is billed as the ‘latest, and best, edition of the shoes designed to handle long days on the road – or long days on your feet.’
The Bondi 7 (RRP £130) improves upon the original max-cushion road shoe to offer a lighter, more stylish take on this HOKA mainstay. A redesigned memory-foam collar and, open- engineered mesh upper delivers breathable comfort and support for an improved look and feel on the classic midsole. The shoe retains its soft, full-length EVA foam and early stage Meta-Rocker. A bevelled heel design offers a smooth transition through the gait cycle and increased durability.
The Clifton 7 (£125) remains a lighter-weight interpretation of HOKA’s signature cushion and ride, but small tweaks to the upper improve the style and comfort of this best-selling shoe. The Clifton 7 retains the soft, smooth, lightweight midsole and outsole of version 6, including the early stage Meta-Rocker for smooth transitions, while open-engineered sandwich mesh on the upper provides a reduction in weight and a breathable, comfortable fit. Additionally, a new vertical pull tab on the heel is designed to make it easier to slide into the shoe.
The Rincon 2 (£105) retains its cushion-to-weight ratio. An engineered sandwich mesh upper and slim tongue package offer a breathable, comfortable fit that seeks to minimize weight; while the midsole and outsole feature signature HOKA cushion, full contact ground design, and a revised early stage Meta-Rocker for a soft, smooth, stable and quick ride.
The Carbon X-SPE (£170) will not replace the Carbon X, but offers another version of the lightweight and responsive cushioned shoe behind HOKA athlete Jim Walmsley’s 50-mile World Record. The Carbon X-SPE retains the dual-density PROFLY X-foam midsole of the Carbon X, with a carbon fibre plate to maintain its aggressive Meta-Rocker for maximum energy return. However, a light, stripped-back upper engineered from polyester mesh, along with a mesh bootie and a moulded heel reinforcement, offers a secure, supportive fit in a stylish new look.
Like its predecessor, the Torrent 2 (£110) offers a lightweight, lower-profile, aggressive trail running shoe that retains the protection and ride claimed to be unique to HOKA products. Designed to break records over challenging terrain, the Torrent 2 features multi-directional, sticky-rubber lugs for grip on technical trails, a PROFLY midsole for a cushioned landing coupled with a propulsive toe-off, and an engineered mesh upper made in part with recycled polyester fibres and reinforced with overlays designed to provide support and protection against trail debris.
The Stinson ATR 6 (£140) is the latest evolution of one of HOKA’s original max-cushion models. With 4mm lugs designed to shine on both road and trail, an accommodating last for optimal fit, and a high-volume CMEVA midsole for lightweight cushioning, the Stinson ATR 6 is designed to provide traction, support and protection for long days on any surface. The late stage Meta-Rocker offers added stability, and the new engineered mesh upper made in part with recycled polyester fibres and TPU-reinforced toe-cap aim to provide a comfortable, protective and durable fit.
The Bondi SR (£140) adds slip-resistant rubber and tread to the cushion and comfort of the Bondi shoe. Tested on surfaces with water, oil and soap, the Bondi SR brings HOKA cushion to professionals who require slip-resistant footwear. A water-resistant, full-gram leather upper, padded memory foam collar and soft lining wrap on the tongue provide additional comfort for long days and shifts, while the full-length EVA midsole and early stage Meta-Rocker offers the smooth, soft ride for which the Bondi is known.
