In celebration of this year’s Tour de France, Zwift has pulled together an infographic outlining all achievements of pro Zwifters at the race – along with some of the stats that give an indication of the preparation that goes into riding the world’s biggest cycling race.
A release from the company noted that… ‘Zwift is proud that a huge number of riders within the professional peloton use the platform to train. Hopefully many will have seen our Fun is Fast campaign starring 2018 Champion, Geraint Thomas. Geraint was not alone in this year’s race as he was joined by another 72 fellow Zwifters in this year’s Tour de France, including teammate and 2019 Yellow Jersey and Young Rider Winner, Egan Bernal.’
Amongst the heroes of this year’s race was Mike Teunissen, the surprise winner of the opening stage in Brussels and a Level 11 Zwifter. The eternal breakaway specialist, and level 24 Zwifter, Thomas De Gendt finally got reward this year with victory on stage 8 into Saint-Étienne. Caleb Ewan, a level 14 Zwifter riding his first ever Tour de France bookmarked the race with his third stage win of the race in the Champs-Élysées on Sunday evening. In total, Zwifters picked up 10 stage victories between them.
