Gran Fondo World Tour and Ride with GPS are launching the ‘first global Gran Fondo’, where participants ride from their hometown or any route they choose to take on. Riders are invited to join the worldwide challenge to earn bonus points for a Gran Fondo World Tour Series final ranking.
All participants in the Gran Fondo World presented by Ride with GPS initiative also join a lottery for a free trip to South Africa, to participate in the final event of Gran Fondo World Tour Series – the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic.
Gran Fondo World is available across five continents and runs 24/7. Riders can complete the goal of 50 or 100 miles, with rides logged via a unique leaderboard. Riding between 50 to 99 miles will earn 50 bonus points; and all rides over 100 miles will earn 100 bonus points for the final Gran Fondo World ranking. The focus is on distance travelled. So, regardless of the time to complete each ride, all participants will earn the same level of points.
Running from 23 February and 3 March, participants can join the challenge online.
Goal details: compete to see who can ride the most distance between February 23rd and March 3rd
