IRONMAN Lake Placid
The ViewSPORT IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon saw nearly 2,400 participants representing 49 USstates and 38 countries, regions, and territories start the race. One of more than 40 events in the global IRONMAN Series, athletes took on a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run through the scenic and challenging course in the Adirondack Mountains.
Following the swim which took place in Mirror Lake, athletes embarked on the two-loop run course – and ventured through the town and back around Mirror Lake for a finish in the Olympic Speed Skating Oval.
IRONMAN Canada and IRONMAN 70.3 Canada
Whistler Valley also provided a picturesque backdrop for athletes who competed in the 2019 Subaru IRONMAN Canada and Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Canada events.
Here, the courses led athletes to run throughout Whistler and the surrounding areas. The swim took place in Alta Lake. The bike course offered one of the most picturesque and challenging courses on an undulating route through the Whistler Valley. The run course followed the meandering Valley Trail, past Lost Lake and Green Lake with a return through Whistler Village at the halfway point of the run.
