New, modified routes at this year’s IRONMAN 5150 Warsaw seek to encompass the ‘most characteristic places’ in the Polish capital. The amended course routes take in Świętokrzyski Bridge, a tunnel on Wisłostrada, Vistula Boulevards and will feature a finish line at Warsaw’s Mermaid Monument.

In addition to the main Olympic distance, the organising team is also putting on a relay race to encourage new starters, as well as a running competition for the youngest athletes – Wiśniowski IRONKIDS Warsaw.

The fourth edition of IRONMAN 5150 Warsaw, is being held on June 16, 2019. This year’s event sees the cycling and running routes amended, as well as the location of the transition zone and the finish line. The swimming stage will play out in Warsaw’s Zegrzeński Lagoon as in previous years.

After exiting the water, athletes will head from the Zegrze Reservoir, through Nieporęt and the North Bridge, and finally to Wisłostrada. After passing the Olympic Center PKOL, the Warsaw Citadel and the Royal Castle, a section of the route on Wisłostrada will be extended, thanks to which athletes will then go through the Wisłostrada tunnel.

The run heads along Świętokrzyskie Bridge, and then to Bulwarami Wiślane. Sites along the amended run route include Multimedia Fountain Park, the Museum of Modern Art, Copernicus Science Center and the Royal Castle. In the background, the PGE Narodowy Stadium and Warsaw ZOO will be visible.

Near the Monument of the Mermaid, on Kahla Square, the IRONMAN Village will be located. This will include an expo zone, finisher zone, family zone and club zone.

Currently, there are over 1150 registered athletes from 24 different countries on the start list for this year’s event. On June 16, 2019, they will cover 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running.

On Saturday, June 15, the Wiśniowski IRONKIDS Warsaw cross-country competition will be held, for children and adolescents aged 3-15.
