Masters of Tri, the Spain-based triathlon training camp and coaching business, has confirmed that it is, once again, partnering with Team Zoot Europe. In a collaboration last year, Masters of Tri coaches supported several Team Zoot Europe athletes throughout 2018, two of whom qualified and raced at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Going forwards, as part of the 2019 partnership, Masters of Tri will be hosting and coaching members of Team Zoot at a special Team Zoot Camp at its base, just north of Alicante, Spain.

Zoot has also provided Masters of Tri with samples of its latest wetsuits and buoyancy shorts for use during training camps – where attendees can try them out during the coached sessions.

Martin Hill, Founder of Masters of Tri, said “Working with Zoot for a second year is a real honour and privilege! They are ‘the original triathlon brand’ founded at the mecca of triathlon, Kona. As coaches, we feel that the Masters of Tri and Zoot association provides a unique synergy of coaching and triathlon apparel to serve the Team Zoot – and wider – triathlon community.”

He continued, “Team Zoot Europe has grown. There are more team members going into the 2019 season, and it is going to be great to meet them all – the veteran Zooters and the new members.”

Matt Hill, Coach at Masters of Tri added “Last year we were lucky enough to partner with Team Zoot Europe and support their team of triathletes. In 2018 we attended and coached at their annual team event in Germany and now coach a number of the team members online.

“Our approach to coaching and athlete success is simple but effective – assessing, advising and accelerating performance without complicating things. Going into 2019, we plan to continue providing the same level of support to Team Zoot athletes, so they can reach their goals.”

Masters of Tri coaches Martin and Matt have a combined coaching and competing experience of over 40 years, in triathlon, swim, bike and run events, notably being mentored by Brett Sutton.

Masters of Tri coaches apply three specific steps to their coaching:

  • Assess – to fully understand the ability of the individual athlete;
  • Advise – accurately and scientifically advising the athlete on areas of development and improvement; and
  • Accelerate – the performance of the athlete by coaching even those small changes that provide significant gains.

Working with athletes, from novice to professional, Masters of Tri aims to provide a unique training experience at its training camps on location in Spain and also venues in Europe and beyond. It has an international roster of coached triathletes, several qualifying for ITU, IM70.3 and IM World Championships.
