New to the Wolf Tooth product line-up are three chainrings from its collaboration with Cane Creek. These nickel-plated chainrings were designed to accompany Cane Creek eeWings, the titanium cranks from the company in Fletcher, North Carolina.
The new chainrings are available in 32T and 34T round, as well as 32T elliptical. According to Wolf Tooth, they are currently the only chainrings that allow riders to use eeWings cranks with the new Shimano 12-speed chain.
A company release added, ‘Our engineers carefully analyzed the Shimano XTR, XT, and SLX 12-speed HYPERGLIDE+ chain to develop a completely new tooth profile, which provides optimal chain retention and durability. This proprietary tooth profile maintains the smooth, quiet performance of the HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrain, while preventing the premature wear and tear that can come with non-optimized chainring tooth profiles.’
Wolf Tooth’s collaboration with Cane Creek creates an additional option for running a new style of chainrings compatible with eeWings. And though these chainrings were designed with Cane Creek eeWings in mind, they also work with SRAM direct mount cranks.
