Rouleur Classic LDN, billed as ‘the world’s finest cycling exhibition’, is set to host the launch of the men’s and women’s Trek-Segafredo team kits at the end of this month. Rouleur Classic LDN returns to London’s Victoria House on Thursday 31st October through to Saturday 2nd November.
On hand to show the new-look Santini-produced apparel is one of the stars of the Yorkshire World Championships, Lizzie Deignan, alongside this year’s Giro d’Italia mountains classification winner, Giulio Ciccone.
Trek-Segafredo return to the Rouleur Classic on 31st October following a kit launch at last year’s event, with added interest after the recent World Championship Road Race victory of team rider Mads Pedersen.
Italian rider Ciccone, 24, joined the WorldTour this season and immediately made his mark. He achieved a third and sixth place on the most testing stages of Paris-Nice. This was a sign of what was to come in the mountains and it was at his home race the Giro d’Italia where he rose to prominence, winning stage 16 to Ponte di Legno on his way to taking the Maglia Azzurra for king of the mountains.
His impressive Grand Tour success continued at the Tour de France where the slight rider from Chieti took second atop La Planche des Belles Filles, obtaining the leader’s yellow jersey in the process, which he held for two days.
Representing the Trek-Segafredo Women’s Team is one of Britain’s most prolific female riders, Lizzie Deignan. Crowned Road Race World Champion in 2015, Deignan has shown signs of a return to the form she carried before giving birth to her daughter in 2018.
In 2020, emerging British talent Elynor Bäckstedt will make her debut for the Trek-Segafredo outfit; while in the men’s team, young Brit Charlie Quarterman joins the ranks alongside the newly crowned Danish world champion, Mads Pedersen, as well as his new Italian team-mate Ciccone.
The Trek-Segafredo team apparel is designed and produced by team sponsor and Rouleur Classic LDN exhibitor Santini Cycling Wear, a brand which has held a long history in the production of cycling apparel since 1965. The Italian company manufactures leaders’ and winners’ jerseys for the UCI World Championship, La Vuelta, Santos Tour Down Under, Tour de Suisse and Deutschland Tour. Santini Cycling Wear is also the exclusive worldwide partner to IRONMAN amongst other event partners.
“Dressing teams and supporting the athletes both in training and in competition has always been very important for Santini,” said Monica Santini, CEO of Santini Cycling Wear. “Thanks to the team’s feedback and suggestions we are able to create technologically advanced and performing products that we can then offer to the general public.
“We are enthusiastic to launch the new Trek-Segafredo team kits at Rouleur Classic LDN, the world’s finest cycling exhibition.”
She continued, “We’ll be at Rouleur Classic LDN also as exhibitors. We’ll present some of the products that we have developed for our pro athletes and then made available to all amateurs, focusing in particular on weatherproof garments and aero solutions.”
Rouleur Classic LDN opens on the evening of Thursday 31st October, running through to 2nd November, showcasing more than 50 premium cycling brands, exhibiting some of the latest performance bicycles, clothing and accessories. The event also features a list of talent on stage over the three days, including Tour de France winners Greg LeMond and Sir Bradley Wiggins, yellow jersey wearers Phil Anderson, Sean Yates, Simon Gerrans, Giulio Ciccone and a ‘whole host of other superstars of the cycling world’.
Tickets to the Rouleur Classic LDN are available now with prices from £35.
