Triathlete, the leading tri magazine and online ‘world’s #1 triathlon resource’, has named Lars Finanger as Director of Sales and Brand Development for the 30-year old brand. Finanger, who has 15 years of experience in triathlon media, will be responsible for establishing Triathlete’s vision and strategy for traditional ad sales, partnerships and sponsorships.
“Lars is the ideal business leader for Triathlete,” said Andy Pemberton, CEO at Triathlete’s publishing firm Pocket Outdoor Media. “His deep knowledge of multisport combined with his creative marketing mind enable him to deliver meaningful results-driven solutions for our clients. I’m honoured to have Lars on our team.”
Finanger was previously Advertising Director and Associate Publisher of Inside Triathlon from 2005-2008, which was part of Inside Communications before its sale to Competitor Group in 2009. Finanger continued in this role through 2012. Finanger left Competitor Group to join Slowtwitch, fulfilling similar advertising sales responsibilities.
“It’s no secret I live and breathe the triathlon lifestyle, so I’m thrilled to join the Triathlete team,” said Finanger. “I believe in the brand and the team in place, and I look forward to contributing right away.”
