USA Triathlon starts second annual #DreamingSeason campaign

USA Triathlon has announced the start of its second annual #DreamingSeason, a campaign that will run from January 7-25 and will encourage both veteran and first-time triathletes to set their goals for 2019. The digital and social media-driven campaign seeks to connect the multisport community and provides training resources that athletes of all levels can use in the upcoming triathlon season.

A concept first introduced by TrainingPeaks, a leading training plan software provider and a USA Triathlon corporate partner, #DreamingSeason was adopted and built-out into a full digital campaign by USA Triathlon last year.

The 2018 edition reached more than 900,000 current and aspiring triathletes on social media, totalling more than 3.3 million impressions.

The 2019 edition will place a greater emphasis on beginner-friendly resources as part of the industry-wide Time to Tri initiative, launched by USA Triathlon and IRONMAN to increase triathlon participation across the United States by the end of 2020.

“The start of a new year lends itself naturally to personal goal-setting, and we know many people use this time to think about the training and racing experiences they want to have in the upcoming season,” said Chuck Menke, Chief Marketing Officer at USA Triathlon.

“In addition, it’s a great time for current triathletes to inspire newbies in their communities by openly sharing their stories, aspirations and tips on how to get started in the sport.”

During #DreamingSeason, USA Triathlon will publish digital and video content focused on training and goal-setting daily at usatriathlon.org, with leading coaches and industry experts offering their advice on everything from preparing for a first triathlon to reaching a mental potential.

Throughout the 19-day campaign, athletes are encouraged to comment on any USA Triathlon social media post related to #DreamingSeason on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for a chance to win special prizes from USA Triathlon partners. These include the following: 2XU, ACTIVE Network, BOCO Gear, Gatorade Endurance, HotelPlanner, KT Tape, Newton Running, NormaTec, ROKA, Rudy Project, Thorne Research and TrainingPeaks.

Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries by February 16, 2019, and will be notified of their prize through social media, phone or email.

In addition, athletes can show their excitement for the upcoming triathlon season by downloading a #DreamingSeason-themed frame to use with their profile picture on Facebook. Athletes can visit facebook.com/profilepicframes and search for ‘USA Triathlon’ or ‘Dreaming Season’ to download.
