The limit of 20,000 entries for the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 in Poland has now been reached.
The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 main event takes place on March 29, 2020. It presents an opportunity for amateur runners to stand side by side with many of the best long-distance runners in the world, fighting for a world championship title. Previous editions of the event have taken place in Valencia, Copenhagen and Cardiff.
“For several weeks, the pace of registration clearly accelerated, and we expected the last package to be sold at the turn of November and December. However, it happened much earlier, on November 19, i.e. over four months before the event,” said Gabriel Zdrojewski, spokesperson for the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020.
“It is extremely interesting that the start list is filled by athletes representing as many as 61 countries. We are also pleased that as many as 30% of all those registered are women.”
As the organizers emphasize – the international field, the finish at the City Beach in Gdynia, as well as the recently presented unique finisher medal with a working compass and a drop of amber, are the key distinguishing features of the event.
“I assure you that we will surprise you again,” commented Piotr Jakóbik, Marketing Director of the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020.
“We are currently working on an official t-shirt and full starter package. We will try to present them in December. Soon we will be able to announce the first names of top players who will compete for the gold medal at the World Championships. And this is not the end of the attractions that await us.”
