XTERRA Belgium, the third of 12 half-hour shows in the 2019 XTERRA Adventures television series debuts nationwide in the US on Outside TV this Wednesday, August 14, at 22:00 EST.
International viewers can watch the action from Belgium on Outside TV’s YouTube Channel.
Episode three takes viewers along for a day in the life of veteran elite XTERRA racer Francois Carloni, who in addition to winning the XTERRA European Tour last year, spends more than 40 hours a week managing the hardware store he owns and operates in his hometown of Frejus in Southeastern France.
Viewers also meet aspiring elite Mandy Dammekens, a 34-year-old Belgian sports instructor at the Royal Military School in Brussels, who overcame her struggles with swimming to become one of the sports fastest females.
Along with getting to know Francois and Mandy, this edition of XTERRA Adventures documents the XTERRA Belgium off-road triathlon that was held June 8, 2019 around the scenic and iconic one-thousand-year-old Citadel in Namur. The gruelling event started with a 1.5km swim in the Meuse River, followed with a 37km mountain bike through forest trails and city steps, and finished with a tough 10km run around the Belgian fortress.
Produced by XTERRA Global and Icarus Sports, the XTERRA Adventure Series features the colourful characters of the sport as they race, train, and travel around the world to XTERRA events in Taiwan, Greece, Belgium, France, America, Italy, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Germany, and China.
