UK-based bag and accessories brand, KitBrix, has announced a new venture as the title bag sponsor for the 40th anniversary Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. This year’s iconic race is set to take place on Sunday, June 7, in San Francisco.
As the official bag sponsor, KitBrix bags will be supplied to all participants – with a choice of colour and added dry bag and race belt options as a part of a ‘build your own race bag’ scheme.
KitBrix specialises in sports solutions, which enable athletes, sports and adventure people to organise and protect their kit. KitBrix is well known in the triathlon space as its equipment is ideally suited for multi-sport disciplines.
“Being the 40th anniversary we wanted to come up with something that athletes would cherish that would also be functional and robust,” said KitBrix Head of Global Development Adam Mangan. “With the help of the talented Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon team, the design of the bag has captured all of those key elements.”
The Escape from Alcatraz includes a 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz Island to the shoreline of Marina Green, an 18-mile twisting bike ride through the Presidio, and an eight-mile trail run out to Baker Beach and up the infamous 400-plus-step Sand Ladder. Fans can experience the excitement at Marina Green, where the swim ends, and the athlete transition area and finish line are easily visible. Entries are limited to 2,000 competitors each year.
