Third annual USA Triathlon #DreamingSeason under way

USA Triathlon has this week announced the start of its third annual #DreamingSeason, a digital and social media-driven campaign that runs from January 6-19 and encourages both veteran and first-time triathletes alike to set their goals for 2020.

A concept first introduced by TrainingPeaks, the leading training plan software provider and a USA Triathlon corporate partner, #DreamingSeason was adopted and built-out into a full digital campaign by USA Triathlon in 2018.

The 2018 and 2019 editions combined to garner more than ‘12.5 million impressions from current and aspiring triathletes on social media.’

In 2020, #DreamingSeason will emphasize beginner-friendly resources as part of the industry-wide Time to Tri initiative. This was launched by USA Triathlon and IRONMAN to increase triathlon participation across the country by the end of 2020.

“#DreamingSeason is our way to bring the multisport community together at the start of each year during this goal-setting window,” said Chuck Menke, USA Triathlon Chief Marketing Officer. “USA Triathlon will share training tips, planning resources and special offers from partners, but our primary goal is connecting athletes of all levels and experience to inspire each other with their stories and help them achieve their own big dreams in 2020.”

Each day over the two weeks, USA Triathlon will publish digital and video content focused on training and goal-setting at usatriathlon.org, with leading coaches and industry experts offering their advice for how to design a race calendar and stay motivated to chase success all year.

Athletes are encouraged to comment on any USA Triathlon social media post related to #DreamingSeason on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #DreamingSeason, for a chance to win special prizes from USA Triathlon partners, including : 2XU, Amp Human, BOCO Gear, Hand & Stone, HotelPlanner.com, KT Tape, Pilates for Sports, Playtri, Retul, ROKA, TrainingPeaks and Wahoo Fitness.

Contest winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries by February 15 and will be notified of their prize through social media, phone or email. Complete contest rules are available at online.

In addition, athletes can share their anticipation for the upcoming triathlon season by downloading a #DreamingSeason-themed frame to use with their profile picture on Facebook. This can be found via facebook.com/profilepicframes and search for ‘USA Triathlon’ or ‘Dreaming Season’ to download.
